Were the Renaissance in Europe really the most important period for the western artistic world? After surviving the Black Plague, i would have a new attitude also and ready to get out and start all over.
Some say that the Renaissance began in Italy. When the Catholic Church began commissioning artists. The reformation, was a big turn. It was the new theories about life. The printing press was very important because it lowered the prices of books. usually the monks would have to hand copy the bibles and now that it has changed people no longer have to depend on the pope to read the message they could do it themselves. Soon people begin slowly backing away from the Catholic Church.
King Henry the 8th broke away from the Catholic Church. He wanted to divorce one of his wives, but the Pope said no. So he started his own church. In the end he had 6 wives two he divorced, one died, he had two beheaded, and one out lived him. When he died he has three children for six years his only son ruled. he was very sickly and did by sixteen.
his daughter Mary ruled for five years. his younger daughter Elizabeth became Queen and ruled England for forty- five years. They believe she was the one who actually wrote Shakespeare's plays. When she died the renaissance came to an end. After her King James, stepped up. who commissioned the English translation of the bible which is still popular today.
1. I like the Shankespear's rhyme scheme the best. To me it just seems as if it flows better than Spencer's.
2. William Shakespeare
first section
explains that he couldn't compare her to a summer day cause she is so ugly.
second section
explains how hot it is. But after the day dies down. everything changes its not so hot anymore. He doesn't want to compare her to something that would faid away.
third section
not going to faid away. Never lose your beauty. She's never going to die.
forth section
as long as people where around the poem would be around and forever lives her.
Edmund Spencer
first section
How in love he is with her. he compares his love for her is like fire and her heart is like ice. The harder he tries, the more she doesn't like him
second section
he tries to show her he loves her, but in the end she doesn't care and he is getting upset. Why is he ice heart making his fire hotter.
third section
Its not making sense to him why is ice making his fire hotter but.. her heart is getting colder.
forth section
Just give love a chance. Love is so strong that it can change the course of nature.

Fresh Spring, the herald of Love's mighty king, {a}
in whose cote-armour richly are displayed {b}
all sorts of flowers, the which on earth do spring, {a}
in goodly colours gloriously arrayd- {b}
Goe to my love, where she is carelesse layd, {b}
yet in her winters bowe not well awake; {c}
tell her the joyous time will not be staid {b}
unless she doe him by the forelock take; {c}
Bid her therefore her selfe soone ready make {c}
Ro wayt on love amongst his lovely crew; {d}
where every one, that misseth then her make, {c}
shall be by him amearst with penance dew. {d}
make hast, therfore, sweet love, whilest it is prime; {e}
For none can call againe the passed time. {e}
Section 1: spring announced the love king. Someone dressed nice in many colors. like flowers in the spring
Section 2: wants the king to go to her and show her that he likes her
Section3: to get ready for him and wait for his love. Everyone who didn't workout with her be for given by the love king
Section 4: the time is right now. so hurry cause no turning back the hands of time.
My mistress' eyes are nothing like the sun; {a}
Coral is far more red than her lips' red; {b}
If snow be white, why then her breasts are dun {a}
If haries be wires, black wires grow on her head. {b}
I have seen roses damasked, red and white, {c}
but no such roses see I in her cheeks; {d}
And in some perfumes is there more delight {c}
than in the breath that from my mistress reeks. {d}
I love to hear her speak; yet well i know {e}
that music hath a far more pleasing sound. {f}
I grant i never saw a goddess go: {e}
My mistress, when she walks, trends on the ground. {f}
And yet, by heaven, i think my love as rare {g}
As any she belied with false compare.{g}
Section1: She is not very pretty at all. her eyes are dark
Section2: She doesn't look healthy, she smells bad and has even worse breath
Section3: Irritating voice, music sounds much better. not very graceful either.
Section4: He loves her as much as he has misrepresented her.

{a} Like a beautiful warm sunny day
{b} The birds are chirping, the flowers have bloomed
{a} Hopefully everything is perfect and goes the right way
{b} It seems as if it is to good to be true
{c} The clouds have taken over the sun has swap places
{d} The birds have left, the wind blows, the sky is dark
{c} First its the rain, then the lighting, then the thunder everyone has gone into their own little place
{d} Now she sits in her space with a broken heart
{e} But.. maybe it is hope, the rain has stopped, the clouds have gone away
{f} Its not longer the beautiful warm day it was.
{e} The sun is still gone, will everything go her way?
{f} Will the birds chirp again, will the flowers bloom brighter because..
{g} Baby without you I will always be in a rainy, stormy way
{g} I just want the beautiful warm sunny day
